Meet the TeamTim, Sarah, Niamh, MattYour Personal Team on hand to help you recover quicker from injury. Sarah, Matt, Niamh and Tim are all members of either the Health Professions Council or the General Osteopathic Council, which we legally must be registered to call ourselves physiotherapists or osteopaths. We are also registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and PhysioFirst. We are also members of the British Osteopathic Association, Osteopathic Sports Care Association and a few other regulatory bodies. Basically, you're in safe hands. Tim has spent seven years training as an osteopath and physiotherapist and in February 2005 he set up Addington Palace Osteopathy and Physiotherapy Clinic. He specialises in treating elite athletes and currently his clientele includes Olympians, Football Internationals, and World Champions. He has a reputation for developing good athletes into elite athletes, and also works with European Tour Golfers. During his spare time (which isn't very much), he enjoys competitive sailing. We are very lucky to have been joined by Sarah, a highly respected and competent Master physiotherapist from Switzerland who has worked with both the Swiss National Football Team, and Swiss National Ski Team. She is also the personal physio to a world elite marathon runner, and has recently been looking after a certain 1980s Wimbledon Champion turned commentator. Sarah is a keen cyclist, triathlete, ski instructor, 12-handicap golfer, squash player, and a concert standard pianist. A very personable girl with a great attitude. She gets great results with injuries...I can highly recommend her. Niamh graduated from the British school of Osteopathy after successfully completing a 4 year degree course. She is an excellent structural osteopath who has experience treating a range of people including expectant mothers, sports people and children. Niamh has a special interest in health and fitness related injuries, and has a background in competitive sports including swimming and tennis. She also enjoys coaching young children to swim. Niamh is the newest edition to the Croydon Physio team and is with us 5 days per week. She is already busy and proving very popular with patients. Matt joined Croydon Physio coming from private practice in the Isle of White. Before physiotherapy, he worked as a successful personal trainer and sports massage therapist for 5 years. Matt specialises in sports rehab and this is supported by his MSc in sport and exercise science, which allowed him to conduct his dissertation at London Wasps working with elite rugby players. Matt has a keen interest in postural and biomechanic abnormalities and enjoys using hands on treatment and exercise prescription to effectively treat patients. Matt is a keen sportsman who plays rugby in his spare time, and believes that achieving a balance between exercise, healthy eating, and rest, is the key to a healthy body. Matt is also a really friendly and nice guy, and you will feel immediately at ease with his warm personality. |
